In the artistic exploration titled "Dhundhlu," I delve into the essence of perception—how clarity ebbs and flows in the landscape of our consciousness. "Dhundhlu," drawing from my Indian heritage, encapsulates the experience of the obscured and the indistinct, much like the eponymous fog of the Gujarati language. It is an ode to the unseen air that envelops us, a presence felt but not discerned, a life force that sustains yet remains invisible to the eye.

As I manifest a physical fog upon the screen, obscuring the portrait behind it, I contemplate the barriers that materialize only when shrouded, which otherwise pass unnoticed, unseen, unfelt. This act of veiling and unveiling becomes a meditation on the nature of our internal landscapes—the fog of thoughts that sometimes clouds our inner vision, rendering the world around us a dim and distant place.

Through the rhythmic ritual of creating and dispelling fog on the screen, I draw a parallel to the cognitive processes that cloud our judgment or clear our insights. It becomes a metaphor for the mental haze that can envelop us, a soft but pervasive mist of doubt or confusion, contrasted with moments of lucidity where the mist dissipates, leaving behind a clear, unobstructed view.

"Dhundhlu" is an invitation to ponder the ephemeral veils that drift across our mind's eye, affecting our perception of reality. It is an artistic inquiry into what lies beneath the layers of fog in our minds and an acknowledgment of the clarity that emerges when the fog lifts. This work stands as a visual and philosophical journey through the haze—a journey into the clarity that lies beyond, waiting to be revealed.
